My Work

Providing leadership in strategic communications, scalable process & system (re)design, and content development. Helping you share engaging stories, capitalize on efficiencies, and achieve your business goals. Let’s elevate your strategic impact together.

As a communications leader, I partner with nonprofits, universities, and businesses to provide leadership in strategic communications, scalable process and system (re)design, and content development. My work strives to amplify business outcomes by adding clarity, transparency, scalable-processes, and accountability to deliver on strategic goals. Or, in plain speak: I provide people-power where it’s needed most, enhancing how leaders think about their communications through innovative, community/customer-centric ways.
A well-designed communications strategy can be incredibly powerful. And strong communications use every tool tool at your disposal. When I joined The Mountaineers, I had the opportunity to design the brand voice, look, and colors, and collaborate on a logo refresh. A final step was to write, edit, and produce an evergreen branding video designed to connect people more deeply to our mission. The branded We Are Mountaineers video brought together organizational mileposts while elevating community voices. Years later, I was asked to to create a companion Vision Forward video to showcase not just where we’d been, but where we were going. These pieces changed the way we were seen by others and how we saw ourselves.

Building systems and strategies that can support and scale with your business vision and financial goals is imperative. Something nimble enough to be adaptable, but strong enough to weather even the toughest storm. At The Mountaineers, I had a decade to grow our communications from one email a month to a robust system of regular monthly emails, social media posts, a print magazine, and an online content strategy involving daily digital publications care and maintenance on our website. All managed by a team of three. Thanks to the support of these systems, we were able to react during the height of the pandemic to create the Virtual Education Center, keeping the community engaged and connected. By offering opportunities to drive deeper engagement, we kept our organization relevant, and, despite what was going on in the world at the time, grew our coalition of supporters.

Content development and impactful storytelling sits at the heart of every organization. As the creative director for The Mountaineers quarterly print magazine, I had the privilege of showcasing the diversity of our community through thoughtful storytelling. Working with a team of editors and volunteers, we produced high-quality content in support of our strategic priorities that could be leveraged though all channels. I love having the opportunity to amplify stories to change minds and inspire action.

Diversity fosters stronger ideas and outcomes.

Equity and belonging have been key focus areas of my work for the better part of a decade. I believe in fostering a culture that encourages learning and teaches people to express their opinion and feelings in a brave, authentic, and compassionate way. We can all do our best work in environments that value diverse perspectives and collaboration.
