OCCASIONALLY EPIC

Communications. Leadership. Adventure.

I’m a communications professional and outdoor lover with a passion for the outdoors, storytelling, NY pizza, and hyperbole. I started this blog in 2005 as a way to share travel adventures. Over time, it evolved into an educational, hopefully-entertaining, and occasionally irreverent home for my stories and soapboxes. I'm so grateful that you're here.

As a skier, runner, mama, and tutu enthusiast, I love blending my experiences through the power of written word. I'm especially passionate about building communications that engage and empower communities. I have deep experience in relationship building, mentorship, change advocacy and implementation, and project management.

My superpowers:

  • Designing transparent communications strategies to grow brand awareness, empower stakeholders, and foster change.
  • Creating scalable processes and feedback systems to support sustainable growth.
  • Managing people and projects with an eye for professional growth and organizational efficiency.

I've helped clients discover and tell compelling stories, design effective social campaigns, and create scalable communications systems. My work has been published in Adventure Journal, Kindering, Osprey, Seattle Weekly, SheJumps, WildHer, and The Mountaineers.
